The Review: NARS Creamy Concealer

Now when it comes to base makeup, I’m pretty much set in my ways and find myself without an urge to try anything new. Bobbi Brown corrector for pesky bags, YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer for concealing on days when my skin needs a little helping hand. Done. However, with a hyped up launch of a new concealer this year I’ve found myself itching to get my hands on something new. I’m talking about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. One of the biggest sell outs of the year, I practically screamed at the girl on the counter when they had my shade in stock.

According to NARS it “evens skin with medium to high buildable coverage. Enriched with hydrating, multi-action skincare benefits and light diffusing technology, it creates a softer, smoother complexion while instantly obscuring imperfections and diminishing fine lines and signs of fatigue.” I’m not one to argue and thankfully I don’t need to.

  • It is incredibly smooth and luxurious in texture where a little does honestly go a long way
  • It’s moisturising enough to prevent any caking and creasing on the skin leaving a fresh smooth finish
  • Densely pigmented, it’s enough to fully cover any blemishes and redness (covers my old acne scars perfectly) as well as diminishing grey tones under the eyes
  • It has great lasting power and is suitable for all skin types
  • It gives a subtle radiance to the skin rather than a total matte finish that other concealers give

There are 10 shades in the range spanning across all ethnicities so there’s a shade for everyone (I wear the shade Vanilla FYI). The packaging is also great in that it comes with a wand applicator meaning its hygienic and easy to use on the go.

It’s pretty hard to find a concealer that is suitable for under the eyes and blemishes elsewhere – but NARS have done it in the form of this triple threat offering. It has such good coverage that wearing it over a tinted moisturiser you may never feel the need for foundation again, and paired with a foundation, you suddenly have china doll skin. At £21 it is a little pricey but it’s completely worth it for a Hall of Fame worthy concealer. I am obsessed. Bravo Francois Nars!
